Founded in 1992 by John E. McGovern, C.P.A., Masters in Taxation, CPA Philly, also known as McGovern & Associates, P.C. has steadily established itself as a respected member of the business communities of the Greater Philadelphia, Southeastern Pennsylvania, and South Jersey business communities.
Our firm's address, 4109 Main St Philadelphia PA 19127, is indicative of who we are and who we represent. We are truly "Main Street," USA accountants and trusted advisors.
McGovern & Associates, P.C. is located in the lively, eclectic Manayunk section of Philadelphia. The firm continues to be an active participant in the revitalization and rebuilding of Manayunk.

Peer Review
Once again, John E. McGovern & Associates, P.C. has successfully completed a recent peer review. The peer review process is monitored by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Accountants.
Peer review has been the cornerstone of the accounting profession’s self-regulatory program since 1977. Designed to assure the public that CPAs practice in firms that provide services of the highest quality, peer review is a periodic outside review of a firm’s quality control system in accounting and auditing. It is also known as a practice monitoring program.
Peer review is a statutory requirement for Pennsylvania firms, and it is also a condition of membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Most firms are required to have a peer review once every three years.
John E. McGovern & Associates, P.C. has successfully completed all four of its peer reviews since its inception and is a proud member of both the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.
